Evolution

Charcuterie & Cheese platter made by Marie-Therese Duplicy

Decorated platter in actual settings

Just like the images I've presented, we too are constantly going from a 'raw' state to a 'decorated' one.

The poem below is an image that will surely speak to many of us, echoing what we think we are at any given point of time and how we can actually see who we were more clearly, if that's what we choose to do, by looking in our past.

I crossed over to the other side…
And looked back at the past,
It made me shudder
To see nothing that mattered in my eyes …
did ever really last

Where I am today is far from
What I knew,
Of the mine, me and I

The person I was yesterday
In my eyes was never surpassed!

Now I see how small I was,
And how big my ego made me out to be
The person I was..
I left on the other side…

And she stands there, staring back at me

In my tow, on this side, no surprise stand…
ego, anger and jealousy
Sure they're smaller than decades ago…
The dwindling in them too I can now see

Now I can push them away
With a nudge easily,

Giving them some space to play
As they’re fully distracted,

The real me
Can come into the frame
Of the mirror that faces me
