When my elder daughter was sixteen, one evening, we were at home together. She looked at me and said, "You know Maman, I just realised something. I know today that at any time, anywhere in the world where I may be, if I doubt myself, all I need to do is close my eyes and remember you and Papa. I know that my biggest supporters believe implicitly in me and that will always boost my confidence. I'll never feel alone."
Looking into my young girl's eyes, I saw the woman-to-be shine through in this young lady. All her ambition and her dreams beaming through those lovely mirrors to her soul. I felt grateful, loved, accomplished and so very happy. Her stepping stones to life had been placed right. The declaration she had just made showed me that beyond any iota of doubt. With tears in my eyes, I saw my baby, my little one, step one step away from me.
