The Let's glorify good series- Meet kind hearted and hard working Tomoko

real beauty can creep up anywhere standing apart from the normal

When we look at the state of our world, the news brings so many shocking images to us daily. Our head and our hearts start getting saturated with these images and these emotions. Society seems to be getting numb.  We then tweet, talk, discuss these 'violent' and 'painful' happenings with the world. I have always found it sad that by doing so people generally end up glorifying the bad in our world. All attention always seems to go to what's not right.

I would like to highlight things that make the world a good place to live in. In this series, I hope to bring to my audience people who touched me by their kindness and genuine empathy. Right now it's through a video I watched. Hoping it will be through real people some day soon.

Meet Oshimo Tomoko who runs an unmanned vegetable stall in the heart of Tokyo. She is a farmer and works really hard to give her clients affordable food in hard times. She sells things very cheap and connects with her buyers through heartwarming messages that she leaves on the stall.

You will discover that she is like an elder sister to many young people who are having financial hardships. Her life also benefits in some ways from what she is doing.

Watch Tomoko who touched me simply, by being simple, kind and really passionate about what she is doing.

You can find Tomoko's story in "A Heart-Warming Tokyo Veggie Stand - Hometown stories' on the NHK World Japan channel.

She inspires us to give without wealth. She gives her time, her know how and the actual product of her labour.
